This backyard had plenty of space, providing the ideal situation to create something unique and sophisticated. Based in the south of Sydney, this backyard outdoor extension was a real treat to build!
For this outdoor extension there were two primary objectives. Firstly, to utilise all of the available backyard space. The second, to give the backyard a variety of entertaining areas.
We knew that for these objectives to be met we’d have to be strategic in our planning. At MATTBUILD Group we believe that partnerships are the key to success. We worked collaboratively with the owners on this job to deliver them an amazing outdoor living area.
For this outdoor home extension, MATTBUILD Group focused on maximising the backyard to its fullest potential. Before the construction of the cabana could commence we had to encase the sewer main. The sewer main was running directly under where the cabana was proposed to be built. In addition to constructing the cabana from beautiful sandstone, we extended the pergola, installed a BBQ area, erected timber screening along the fences, built a pool area storage room, installed aluminium bifold doors and windows to the back of the house and renovated the bathroom.
Traditionally we like to carefully evaluate all existing properties. This evaluation paints us a clear picture about the property and helps us to thoroughly understand what building materials were originally used. For this project, the polished concrete slab complemented the Canadian slate tiles perfectly! The whole project is tied together with plenty of detail and character.
